2010 school projects
In 2010, we worked with four high schools (Kapolei, Wai‘anae, Waipahu, and a homeschool cooperative) that developed projects ranging from planting native plants at a cultural site, cooking using earth ovens, managing food waste through vermicomposting, and natural food preservation methods. Mahalo to the Ka Papa O Kakuhihewa Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation and the Kohlberg Foundation for supporting this project.
In 2011, we will work with more schools to develop native plant nurseries and aquaponic systems with the emphasis on building awareness of green jobs.
