Mālama ʻĀina Field School
From 2013 - 2024, the Mālama ‘Āina Field School at Nānākuli has been recognized as a stimulating summer school course held for students entering grades 7-10 at Nānākuli High & Intermediate School (NHIS) and Ka Waihona o ka Na‘auao Public Charter School. The primary goal of the program has been to strengthen students’ core skills in science, math, English, and language arts by connecting them to their ‘āina and culture as well as increase school preparedness, on-time graduation, and enrollment in college, all contributing to an ‘auwai (education pathway) that leads to meaningful career opportunities.
