Kumu (Teachers)

Teacher Professional Development

MLC in partnership with the Center for Getting Things Started is offering a Professional Development Experience (PDE) course this summer called Managing Wildfires as a Tool to Mālama ʻĀina. It is a 3-credit PDE for Hawaiʻi DOE teachers on Oʻahu, Maui County, and Hawaiʻi Island. The course is hybrid online and in-person, it is also tuition free. Teachers can register through Learnsoft registration (#28167) and our first introductory date will be on June 18th.

Interested in learning from other kumu? The Wai Huihia Kumu Network is for teachers of all grades in public, private, and charter schools (with an emphasis on Waiʻanae and ʻEwa regions). Anyone who feels they could benefit from and add to the network is welcome. There is no cost to join the War Huihia Kumu Network!
