Aloha
Kākou --
Welcome
to the Mālama Learning Center.
The Mālama Learning Center is a shared vision among educators,
conservation groups, businesses, and community members to create
an innovative learning center in Kapolei to promote healthy, sustainable
living in an island environment. The Mālama Learning Center
will serve the people of O‘ahu, with emphasis on Kapolei
and West O‘ahu communities.
What
is the Mālama Learning Center?
The Mālama Learning Center is a non-profit organization that brings art, science, conservation, and culture together to promote sustainable living throughout Hawai‘i.
It will be a gathering place where the community learns to perpetuate the Hawaiian culture and values of caring for the land and sea, and be inspired through the creative arts through classes, workshops, performances, volunteer service projects, and more. To learn more, see “Our Programs”
While we are conducting pilot educational programs for the community, we have embarked on planning for construction of a “green” building on a three-acre site near the entrance to Kapolei High School. To learn more, see “Design Concept”
Through this website, we hope to keep you informed on the creation of the Mālama Learning Center, and invite you to get involved -- as a volunteer, donor, committee member... any help is appreciated. Please contact us with your ideas.
We would like to say "mahalo" to the generous donors who have already shown their support for the Mālama Learning Center.
